Production Technician – Oil & Gas Operations

About the role

Halliburton is seeking a Production Technician to support oil and gas production activities in Basra, Iraq. The role combines office, field, and laboratory tasks to record, analyze, and report production data, helping optimize well performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist geologists and engineers in the field using electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments.
• Gather and analyze well and production data, supporting well optimization and failure analysis.
• Prepare monthly performance reports for each producing well.
• Report key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, new completions, recompletions, and workovers.
• Compile weekly production, activity, and flowback reports.
• Collect formation, mud, and soil samples; prepare and conduct laboratory tests.
• Record test data such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and water cut, and compare actual productivity to estimates.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; undergraduate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in production operations within oil & gas.
• Strong computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office applications.
