Procurement Specialist (Purchasing & Supplier Management)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing, supplier relationships and import operations for Alhasani Home Center in Baghdad. The role focuses on sourcing products from China, coordinating shipments and supporting inventory planning.

Key responsibilities

• Execute approved purchase orders through the Odoo ERP system in line with procurement plans and budgets.
• Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers in the Chinese market.
• Negotiate pricing, specifications, payment terms and delivery schedules with Chinese suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Coordinate import shipments, container loading and prepare customs documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand and manage replenishment requirements.
• Prepare procurement reports and recommend cost‑optimization opportunities.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain, preferably with Chinese suppliers.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Odoo ERP or other ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management and supply chain processes.
• Knowledge of customs documentation and shipment coordination.
