NDT Specialist – Pipeline Inspection (Basra)

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced NDT Specialist to join its on‑site team in Basra. You will be responsible for overseeing non‑destructive testing activities on cross‑country pipeline projects, ensuring compliance with international codes and delivering accurate inspection reports.

Key responsibilities

• Witness, monitor and record NDE parameters during pipeline welding activities.
• Conduct surveillance of RT, UT, PAUT, AUT, MT and PT methods.
• Verify compliance with API 1104, API 5L, ASME Section V and Section IX.
• Monitor welding inspection and ensure NDE is performed per approved WPS and ITPs.
• Validate NDE test procedures and witness qualification of procedures and personnel.
• Ensure proper calibration, validity and certification of NDE equipment and measuring instruments.
• Review and validate NDE reports and interpretation results.
• Identify deviations, raise NCRs and monitor performance against project KPIs.
• Coordinate with welding inspectors, construction teams and client representatives.
• Prepare daily surveillance reports and maintain inspection records.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in cross‑country pipeline NDT inspection.
• Hold NDT Level 3 or AUT certification.
• Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative NDE techniques.
• Proficient in checking the correctness and validity of measuring instruments.
• Experience witnessing NDT test coupon inspections.
• Good communication skills and ability to produce daily reports.
• Well‑versed in API 1104, API 5L, ASME Section V and Section IX.
• Understanding of NDT KPIs.
