Head of KAMs & Tender Management

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a senior leader to head Key Account Management (KAM) and Tender Management across Iraq. The role will shape the KAM capability, drive pricing and contracting strategies, and ensure optimal market access for AbbVie’s portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and develop KAM capabilities, leading a team of Key Account Managers across Iraq’s dispersed geography.
• Participate in monthly Demand, S&OP, and LBE planning cycles, providing performance insights on volumes, pricing and external dynamics.
• Lead operational pricing, tendering and contracting processes to secure volumes at optimal prices.
• Coordinate with Finance and Logistics to improve operational efficiency, meet KPIs and reduce expiry or penalty risks.
• Drive strategic account planning and align brand team objectives with IFT tactics.
• Support the integrated access strategy for key brands, creating tailored solutions to accelerate reimbursement.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with health authorities, payers and distributors.
• Provide analysis and guidance on distributor performance and overall market dynamics.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build high‑performing KAM teams and lead with a clear vision.
• Strong performance monitoring skills with a track record of implementing corrective actions.
• Experience translating strategy into actionable access and reimbursement plans.
• Excellent multi‑project management, organizational and stress‑resilience capabilities.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and anticipate market threats and opportunities.
• Skilled in complex negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of local healthcare landscape, payer systems and regulatory policies.
