Electrical Engineer – Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings

About the role

Yaqoub Holdings Group is delivering the Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings in Erbil and seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead all electrical works from construction through commissioning and handover. The role ensures that power, lighting, emergency and low‑voltage systems meet the highest standards for a modern healthcare facility.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily electrical construction activities according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate installation of medium‑voltage and low‑voltage systems, transformers, MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, cable containment, grounding and bonding.
• Oversee generators, UPS, emergency power and other critical infrastructure supporting hospital operations.
• Integrate electrical services with architectural, structural, mechanical and medical equipment requirements.
• Install and commission lighting, power outlets, isolation switches and ELV systems (CCTV, access control, structured cabling, telecommunications, nurse‑call, PA, BMS, fire alarm).
• Monitor inspections, testing, commissioning and performance verification, including insulation resistance, grounding, functional and fire‑alarm testing.
• Prepare complete project documentation: inspection records, test certificates, O&M manuals, warranties, as‑built drawings and handover packages.
• Collaborate with project managers, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience in construction, preferably in healthcare projects.
• Proven ability to supervise and coordinate complex electrical installations on large‑scale sites.

• Power distribution design and installation (medium‑voltage, low‑voltage).
