About the role
The Sardar Group seeks a qualified Lawyer to provide comprehensive legal representation, advice and support to all its subsidiaries in Erbil. The role involves handling civil, labor, criminal and administrative matters, ensuring compliance with local regulations and protecting the Group’s interests.
Key responsibilities
- Represent the Group in civil, labor and criminal courts, attend hearings and submit legal briefs.
- Monitor decisions of first‑instance, appeal and cassation courts and produce regular status reports.
- Follow up criminal investigations, maintain contact with investigative authorities and report on case progress.
- Provide legal counsel to subsidiaries on demand and assist in company formation, branch openings and trademark matters.
- Liaise with ministries, directorates and other public bodies (e.g., Interior, Traffic, Municipalities, Tax and Investment departments) to secure necessary permits and licenses.
- Support foreign employees with driver’s license issuance and renewal.
- Oversee archiving of official correspondence and ensure proper document preservation.
- Assist internal departments (HR, Finance, IT, Transportation) when legal intervention is required.
- Manage renewal of traffic licenses, Chamber of Commerce memberships and customs procedures for import/export activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Proven experience in legal representation, counselling and interaction with government directorates.
