Welding Inspector – Pipeline Projects

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to join its on‑site team in Basra. You will be responsible for ensuring pipeline welding activities meet all technical specifications, codes and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Witness, monitor and record welding parameters during pipeline welding operations, ensuring compliance with approved WPS and ITP.
• Verify welder qualifications, fit‑up activities, pre‑heating, interpass temperature, and post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) as required.
• Inspect welds before, during and after completion, coordinate with NDT personnel, and raise NCRs for any deviations.
• Review and witness Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and welder qualification tests, and monitor welding productivity against project KPIs.

Required profile

• 10+ years of welding surveillance experience, including at least 5 years in cross‑country pipeline welding inspection.
• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification, engineering graduate, and NDT Level‑II (RT/PT/UT/MT) qualification.
• Strong knowledge of API 1104, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, API 5L, PWHT, pre‑heating, and welding KPIs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to produce accurate daily reports.
