Senior Compliance Specialist – Oil & Gas

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum’s South Basra Integrated Project is looking for a Senior Compliance Specialist to lead compliance across the contract procurement lifecycle in its Basra operations. The role reports to the Compliance Section Head and works closely with the Contracts & Procurement Department to ensure all activities meet corporate policies, local regulations and international sanctions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee compliance of the full procurement cycle – tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation, award and execution – in line with the company’s Supply Chain & Procurement Procedures (SCPP) and applicable laws.
• Independently review tender dossiers, bid submissions and evaluation reports to verify procedural fairness, transparency and compliance, flagging risks and recommending corrective actions.
• Collect, consolidate and analyse departmental compliance data, prepare monthly compliance reports and present findings to senior management.
• Organise and chair regular compliance meetings and ad‑hoc risk reviews, record minutes, track follow‑up actions and deliver training to enhance team awareness.
• Assist the Section Head in establishing and maintaining a robust compliance management framework for the department.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent substantial experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project administration, compliance, procurement processes, ERP and document control.
• At least 3 years of overseas experience; Middle‑East exposure is a plus.
• Proven experience in the Oil & Gas sector (10 years preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for procurement and document management.
