Radar Technician – Balad (USN)

About the role

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full‑time Radar Technician to support 24/7 aviation operations at Balad, Iraq. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant airfield radar systems in a deployed environment, contributing to mission‑critical air navigation support.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test radar systems used for airfield and aviation operations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance following FAA, ICAO, DoD, OEM, and contract requirements.
• Diagnose faults in radar transmitters, receivers, antennas, displays, power supplies, and signal‑processing units.
• Conduct calibration, alignment, performance verification, and operational testing of radar equipment.
• Monitor system performance, analyze data for deficiencies, and respond to outages or emergency service calls.
• Install, modify, upgrade, and commission radar hardware and associated infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, configuration documentation, and technical logs.
• Coordinate activities with Airfield Management, ATC, Operations, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Valid driver’s license and passport with at least 12 months validity from deployment date.
• Ability to meet all medical screening requirements and work in a deployed environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in radar systems maintenance and repair.
• Associate degree, military technical training, or vocational education related to electronics or avionics.
