Project Manager – Infrastructure

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large‑scale infrastructure projects in Basra, Iraq. The role covers the full project lifecycle from pre‑tender preparation through execution, commissioning and close‑out, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, cost and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents (ITT/RFQ), specifications and drawings; develop technical proposals, methodologies and execution strategies.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and commercial teams to produce BOQ/MTO and cost estimates.
• Identify project risks, constraints and assumptions; propose and implement mitigation measures.
• Lead project kick‑off, manage multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation) and ensure smooth hand‑over from tendering to execution.
• Monitor progress, budget and resources; take corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee engineering deliverables, procurement activities, construction progress, RFIs, variations and change orders.
• Ensure quality assurance, HSE compliance and proper documentation throughout the project.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and stakeholders; support commissioning, testing and project close‑out.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure projects, including at least 7 years in project management roles.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure lifecycles (roads, buildings, utilities, substations, pipelines, etc.).
• Proven ability to manage technical coordination across civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contract types and project control processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or a related discipline.
