Programme Director

About the role

The Programme Director will lead World Vision Iraq’s programmes and operations across the Kurdistan Region and the wider country. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures strategic alignment, resource mobilisation, and high‑quality delivery of humanitarian, development and peace‑building initiatives for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, shaping country strategy and business planning.
• Identify and secure programme opportunities, funding and partnerships aligned with national priorities.
• Oversee resource development, acquisition strategies and donor engagement to ensure sustainable financing.
• Coordinate closely with field operations, grant acquisition, sector and evaluation teams to guarantee high‑impact programme implementation.
• Integrate humanitarian, development and peace‑building efforts into WV Iraq’s nexus programming.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, advocating WV Iraq’s position within the global partnership.
• Ensure alignment of strategies with World Vision International while adapting to the Iraqi context.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale humanitarian or development programmes.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
• Demonstrated success in resource mobilisation and donor relationship management.
• Excellent coordination skills across multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Commitment to World Vision’s Christian‑inspired mission and child‑focused outcomes.
