Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will provide day‑to‑day mechanical engineering support for site operations, ensuring safe and effective performance while managing risks and minor modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver front‑line support to Operations and Maintenance teams, escalating significant issues to Central Engineering.
• Monitor condition monitoring data, static/rotating equipment KPIs, and initiate corrective actions.
• Participate in risk assessments, anomaly resolution, start‑up readiness reviews, and production efficiency improvement processes.
• Act as technical interface for Projects and Modifications, developing Statements of Requirements and Project Initiation Requests.

Required profile

• More than 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably with an IOC.
• Professional (Chartered) Engineer status preferred and a technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in asset engineering or operations support roles with strong communication and coaching abilities.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering expertise for static and rotating equipment.
• Proficiency with CMMS and Change Management applications.
• Advanced IT skills, including the Office suite and document management systems.
