ICT Associate – Head of ICT Unit

About the role

The ICT Associate – Head of ICT Unit will lead the Common Premises ICT team, ensuring high‑quality ICT services that support UNDP’s operational needs in Baghdad. The role combines strategic planning, infrastructure management, and team supervision while adhering to UNDP corporate ICT policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the common premises ICT team and coordinate implementation of ICT activities and services aligned with UNDP operational needs.
• Integrate ICT assets and systems received from UNAMI, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance with UNDP protocols.
• Oversee decommissioning and repurposing of ICT infrastructure, managing asset documentation, labeling and disposal per UN regulations.
• Develop local ICT budgets, procurement forecasts and asset management reports for internal tracking and donor reporting.
• Manage local IT support operations, including help‑desk services, network availability and end‑user support for hardware and software issues.
• Supervise national CP ICT staff and contractors, delegate responsibilities, monitor performance and promote team development.
• Liaise with national service providers, vendors and partners to ensure service delivery and contract compliance.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in managing ICT teams and delivering IT services in a complex, multi‑agency environment.
• Proven ability to plan strategically, manage projects and handle ICT asset lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of UN procurement and asset management regulations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
