About the role

HAMAP Humanitaire is seeking a specialist to lead Heritage Impact Assessments (HIA) and provide archaeological consultancy for its projects in Iraq. The role supports the MIRATH initiative aimed at rehabilitating archaeological tourism while ensuring that humanitarian mine‑action activities respect cultural heritage.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive heritage impact assessments for planned interventions in Iraq.
• Provide expert archaeological consultancy to project teams, including advice on mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with local partners and authorities to integrate heritage considerations into mine‑action and development programmes.
• Document findings and produce reports that align with international HIA standards.

Required profile

• Professional background in archaeology, heritage management or related field.
• Experience working in Iraq or similar cultural contexts is an advantage.
