GBV and Gender Equality Technical Advisor

About the role

The GBV and Gender Equality Technical Advisor will provide technical leadership for SEED’s community‑based psychosocial support and gender‑based violence prevention initiatives in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Reporting to senior program staff, the advisor will shape strategy, design interventions, and ensure culturally appropriate delivery that empowers women, girls, and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, adaptation, and implementation of curricula and materials for community‑based GBV prevention and gender equality activities.
• Train and mentor SEED staff and partners to deliver high‑quality group and community sessions.
• Develop and maintain robust MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) systems to capture impact and community feedback.
• Collaborate with program and project managers to align technical approaches with SEED’s strategic objectives.
• Facilitate engagement with men and boys as allies, promoting gender‑equitable norms.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in gender‑based violence prevention, gender equality programming, or related humanitarian fields.
• Proven ability to design and deliver community‑based curricula and training.
• Strong understanding of cultural contexts in the Kurdistan Region and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
