Fit-Out Project Specialist – Retail Construction

About the role

The Fit‑Out Project Specialist will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of Baly Groceries store fit‑out projects, from planning and design through construction, equipment installation and post‑launch maintenance. Working closely with contractors and internal teams such as Procurement, Supply Chain, IT and Store Operations, the role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage store fit‑out design, contractor selection and construction schedules across assigned sites.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones and site trackers.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety and compliance with approved designs.
• Oversee equipment sourcing, delivery, installation and testing, including shelving, chillers, freezers, power backup, CCTV and other operational systems.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, IT, Security and other teams to fulfil all pre‑opening requirements.
• Track fit‑out costs against budgets, manage change requests and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
• Perform snagging, quality checks and final inspections before handover to Store Operations.
• Manage post‑launch store maintenance activities and resolve issues with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in retail fit‑out, construction project management or real‑estate development.
• Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and simultaneous fit‑out projects.
• Working knowledge of MEP systems and construction requirements.
• Experience in store maintenance and post‑launch support.
• Strong project‑management, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑communication skills.
• High level of ownership, accountability and bias for action.
• Ability to deliver projects within tight timelines while maintaining quality and cost control.
