Country Manager – Iraq

About the role

The Country Manager for Iraq will lead DHL’s operations in the market, responsible for both short‑term execution and long‑term growth. Reporting to regional leadership, the role ensures profitability, service excellence and alignment with global strategy while building a high‑performing local team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the country’s business plan, covering revenue, cash flow, profit and service level targets.
• Drive service performance to meet or exceed customer expectations and DHL’s global standards.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key customers, NGOs, partners, industry bodies and government agencies.
• Lead the senior management team, communicate strategy and ensure effective execution across functions.
• Coordinate strategic initiatives with Solutions, Intercontinental business units and Global Customer Service.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory environment and competitive landscape to adapt the country strategy.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in logistics, transport or related industry.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable growth.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including government and key customer engagement.
• Ability to develop and motivate cross‑functional teams in a multicultural environment.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on service quality and customer satisfaction.
