Account Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead our accounting team in Baghdad, Iraq, overseeing comprehensive accounting operations and ensuring compliance with Iraqi regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee comprehensive accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and tax filings in strict adherence to Iraqi regulations.
• Develop and implement robust internal financial controls and accounting procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support strategic business objectives.
• Collaborate with senior management to provide insightful financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Oversee tax calculations, coordinate audits, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Optimize accounting systems and ensure seamless integration with our ERP system.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in HVAC/Refrigeration, trading, or manufacturing industries.
• In‑depth knowledge of Iraqi tax laws, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and relevant financial regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing accounting teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically Odoo and SAP.
• Experience using accounting software and ERP integrations.
• Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
• Understanding of Iraqi tax regulations.
• Advanced Excel or comparable data‑analysis tools.
