Treasury Accountant

About the role

The Treasury Accountant will process approved invoices, post payments in SAP and manage the Petty Cash Fund in line with Eni Iraq B.V. procedures. The role supports period‑end closing activities by ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled and archived.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review all invoices posted by the Accounting Department and ensure supporting documentation is compliant.
• Release payments in SAP for approved invoices in both local (IQD) and foreign (USD/EUR) currencies.
• Post treasury‑related transactions in SAP and assist in the preparation of payment proposals.
• Prepare vendor ageing reports and manage communications with vendors.
• Act as custodian of the Petty Cash Fund (USD and IQD), disburse payments, post daily transactions in SAP and reconcile monthly statements.
• Conduct periodic cash counts in accordance with the company’s Petty Cash Operating Procedure.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Relevant experience as an Accountant, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in English.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the MS Office suite.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, SunSystems or Navision.
