Quality Construction Inspector

About the role

The Quality Construction Inspector will support a U.S. Department of State contract in Iraq, ensuring that construction and modification activities meet all applicable performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Working under direction, the inspector will apply expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across horizontal and vertical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, verify compliance with local and international construction codes, and oversee preliminary lay‑down, construction phases, and final acceptance inspections.
• Maintain audit schedules, perform audits of procedures, plans, and records, and ensure alignment with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
• Track deficiencies, develop corrective action plans, and close out non‑conformances using CAPA methodology.
• Collect and analyze performance data for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including material testing (hardness, slump).
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports with documentation, photographs, and compliance evidence.
• Provide quality‑related training to program staff and subcontractors and ensure adherence to program instructions, SOPs, and standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in construction quality assurance or inspection, preferably on government contracts.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, OBO, DoS policies, USACE requirements, and ICCS construction codes.
• Ability to manage project portfolios, conduct audits, and drive corrective actions.
