Junior Internal Audit Specialist

About the role

The Junior Internal Audit Specialist will support the Internal Audit team of ASG in Duhok, conducting financial and operational audits across Sardar Group companies. The role focuses on analysing data, identifying discrepancies and preparing findings to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with company branches to research issues, propose policy and procedure improvements in line with legislation.
• Survey assigned functions to assess operations and adequacy of control systems.
• Assist in audit assignment procedures, including statistical sampling and IT tools.
• Identify and document key control points of financial systems.
• Perform audit assignments according to the approved Audit Program and Working Papers.
• Analyze data, evaluate internal control systems and suggest improvements.
• Prepare written and verbal reports of findings for audit management and senior auditors.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in auditing, sales or after‑sales roles.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, financial policies and current regulations.
