Electrical and Computer Lab Assistant

About the role

The Electrical and Computer Lab Assistant supports the engineering laboratories at AUIB, ensuring that students and faculty have a safe, well‑organized environment for hands‑on learning. This position involves preparing equipment, setting up experiments, and providing technical assistance during lab sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and inventory.
• Set up experiments and ensure all tools are ready for each lab session.
• Provide basic technical troubleshooting for faculty and students.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and institutional guidelines.
• Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding lab programs and policies.
• Handle administrative duties such as telephone communications, visitor reception, and answering inquiries.
• Draft, edit, and proofread correspondence, reports, and official documents.
• Coordinate procurement of books, equipment, and supplies, maintaining accurate purchase records.
• Organize and maintain files, records, and scheduling logistics for meetings and events.
• Record minutes of meetings and follow up on action items as directed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with attention to detail.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse colleagues and students.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
