Education Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term – Basrah, Iraq

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Education Officer (NO-2) on a fixed‑term basis to support education programmes in Basrah, Iraq. Reporting to the Chief Field Office, you will contribute to the full programme cycle, from planning to delivery, ensuring quality and impact for children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and planning of education programmes and projects.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring progress and delivering results.
• Provide technical and operational support throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Education, Psychology, Sociology or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in education programme management, humanitarian assistance, education governance, early childhood education, access to education, data management, non‑formal education or learning outcomes improvement.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
