Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function of a large‑scale pharmaceutical manufacturing organization in Iraq. The CFO will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, shaping financial strategy, profitability, and long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
• Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, investments, expansion plans and strategic decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, management reporting and board reporting.
• Drive EBITDA growth, gross margin improvement, cost optimisation and cash‑flow performance.
• Oversee pharmaceutical manufacturing finance, including product costing, batch costing, COGS, API and packaging costs.
• Partner with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, QA, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial teams to improve profitability.
• Manage treasury, banking relationships, liquidity planning, financing facilities and foreign‑exchange exposure.
• Optimise working capital, receivables, payables, inventory levels and cash conversion cycle.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS, local tax regulations and corporate governance standards.
• Lead internal and external audits, internal controls, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
• 18–25 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including at least 10 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Prior experience as CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance or Head of Finance.
• Strong exposure to large‑scale manufacturing operations and regulated environments.
