HR Specialist – Baghdad

About the role

Abwaab is looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented HR Specialist to manage end‑to‑end HR operations for its Baghdad office. The role covers the full employee lifecycle, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant with Iraqi labour law, and aligned with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and coordinate full‑cycle recruitment, from posting to offers.
• Manage onboarding and off‑boarding processes, including documentation, exit interviews, and system updates.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, support conflict resolution, and promote a positive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi labour regulations, handle social security and residency documentation, and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Oversee day‑to‑day HR administration, maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR documentation with confidentiality.
• Validate employee data for payroll, coordinate with finance and payroll vendors, and administer benefits such as medical insurance and allowances.
• Support implementation of HR policies, performance management cycles, and identify training needs.
• Manage relationships with external vendors (insurance, payroll, recruitment agencies) and ensure service quality.
• Oversee office administration to ensure smooth daily operations.
