GTG Operator – SIBA CPF Operation & Maintenance

About the role

The GTG Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining gas turbine generator sets within the SIBA CPF Operation and Maintenance team in Basra, Iraq. This role ensures stable, efficient performance of GTG equipment while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily start‑up, shutdown, operation monitoring, and parameter adjustments of GTG equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and servicing according to operational procedures.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment abnormalities and operational faults promptly.
• Record and maintain operation data, maintenance logs, and fault reports accurately.
• Coordinate with the technical team to support maintenance activities and process optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with site safety regulations and participate in safety training and emergency drills.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience operating and maintaining GTG equipment, preferably on Iraqi or Middle‑Eastern projects.
• Proven ability to work independently and resolve common equipment issues.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
