About the role
The National Bank of Iraq is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain data integration pipelines that support its banking systems. The role focuses on ETL development, data modeling and ensuring high‑quality data for reporting and analytics across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines between core banking applications.
- Build and optimise ETL processes for efficient data movement, transformation and loading.
- Create and improve data models, including fact tables, dimension tables and data marts.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for ETL and data modelling.
- Monitor pipelines, investigate failures and resolve data processing issues.
- Perform data quality checks and validation to guarantee accuracy and consistency.
- Document pipelines, models, ETL logic and quality rules.
- Collaborate with analysts, business users and IT teams to support reporting and analytical needs.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development or data warehousing.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language.
- Experience with data pipeline design and data quality monitoring.
